More reasonable weather welcomed additional dealers arriving across northern Fayette County Tuesday. Area hotels are busting at the seams and few dealer spaces remain empty in those shows that have opened. Another big show between Round Top and Warrenton opened today with acres of antiques and collectibles for sale. Wednesday will see another big show open in Shelby and yet another south of US-290 near Burton.
Now the press is on, only two more days for the last dealers to arrive and be prepared for Friday, Saturday, and in most cases Sunday. Marked activity can be spotted in Carmine along US-290 and out on Spur-458; Fayetteville to the east off FM-1291 has dealers with expanded displays spilling out of the buildings; Oldenburg and Rutersville to the south on SH-159 have tents and fields supplementing the established antique dealers. And then there are the impromptu yard, estate, garage and junk sales popping up like goose bumps.
The largest number of dealers during Antique Weekend will be opening for business on Friday, October 6th, Saturday and Sunday, October 7th & 8th. Some shows will close Saturday afternoon. See them first and be assured that you can shop 'til you drop.
