The Texas Antique Weekend is arriving! The highways and roads around Round Top and Warrenton are full of trucks and trailers. Literally dozens of vehicles loaded with antiques are arriving every hour. Seems that they aren't even slowing down to see the vast fields of wildflowers that are here to greet them. Last week there were tractors mowing the fields that today are filled with tents and treasures. Already thousands of antique, collectable, and art dealers are here and setting up their displays. The rain has stopped, at least for the time being, and the sun is peeking out of the cloud cover. But since there's no such thing as a 'rain-out' just bring your wallet, boots, umbrella and start shopping. Today starts the Antique Weekend preview sales (March 30th, 31st and April 1st), followed by a week of shows and sales that lead up to the April 6 & 7th HUGE Texas Antique Weekend. When should you come to the Texas Antique Weekend? That's a good question. While hundreds of dealers will be here selling their goods from today through Sunday April 8th, ALL of the dealers will be open for business on Friday April 6th and Saturday April 7th. Keep in mind however that there are lots of one-of-a-kind treasures that show up from all over the world. You've heard the saying "the early bird get the worm." Well the same is true of antiques and art! Since dealers will be arriving and opening for business every day from before March 30th through Thursday, April 5th, everyone of those day will be an opportunity to snag the "find-of-the-show." If you've never been here to attend the Texas Antique Weekend, please understand that the size of these combined shows and sales, is so big that it would be impossible for you (or anyone else) to see everything for sale here, even if you came on March 29th and spent 12 hours a day shopping all the way through April 8th. Stay tuned to AntiqueWeekend.com for all your Texas antique show schedules and news. Remember when you attend the shows that there's lots of great antiquing to be done in Fayette County. Plan to spend several days during the shows and visit again during a weekend between shows to see all that this antiquing region has to offer and let AntiqueWeekend.com be your official guide.
