The Great Texas Antique Weekend Arrives

The gang's all here!  The picture above shows Warrenton field shows for as far as the eye can see.  Tomorrow the last four big show venues will open and then for two days all of the shows will be open for business.

The big red barn on SH-237 (8-miles north of Round Top) was surrounded with dealer trucks and trailers busy unloading and setting up for the Friday opening of their show.   We're anxious to see this newest facility and check-out the air conditioning.

After Sunday's good weather thing turned a little sour during the first of the week.  Monday and Tuesday mornings started off with scattered rain.  Tuesday and Wednesday turned warm into the low 80's generating muggy, humid weather.

Thursday, the official opening day of the Texas Antique Weekend, started under cloud cover.  A look at the Doppler radar this morning didn't show any rain falling in Fayette County or the eight surrounding counties.  By afternoon the sky was filled with scattered clouds, no rain and the sun was letting you know that you were in Texas.

Friday is forecast to be mostly cloudy, mid 80s and breezy with only a 20% chance of rain.  Saturday is also forecast to be cloudy, in the 80s with a small chance of morning showers.  Sunday is still too far away to predict.  [weather]

As reported throughout the Warrenton-Round Top countryside, this is an excellent year for highway wildflowers.  The state of Texas sows more than 47,000 pounds of wildflower seeds along it's 79,000 mile highway system.  Travelers searching for the best wildflower locations along Texas highways can access the state's wildflower hotline for timely information at 800.452.9292.

Stay tuned to AntiqueWeekend.com for all your Texas antique show schedules and news.
