Show News: 09/30/01
September 30, 2001

Some may have been concerned that the recent attack on New York might have put a damper on the Great Texas AntiqueWeekend. Not so! We've already seen hundreds of the regulars and about a hundred new vendors. And of course we don't know everyone (but almost). The State has clamped down on road-side parking and vendors who were encroaching on the highway. The result has been an improvement for everyone. It's safer, it's easier to see what's for sale along the road, it especially safer for the pedestrians. There's plenty of parking so don't worry about where to put your car or truck. Parking free almost everywhere except the south end of Warrenton where it will cost $2, $3, or $5 for all day. [map] We've starting putting photos on AntiqueWeekend.com that will give you a glimpse of what you'll find when you get here. [photos] Dealers and vendors are still arriving with moving trucks and trailers. They'll keep coming with most of them arriving Thursday, October 4th. More than a thousand dealers and vendors will be open for business in and around Warrenton all week (Monday-Sunday). Come early and beat the weekend crowds! The continues to be simply perfect! No rain in a week so everything is nice and dry. Cool, breezy, and clear blue skies. [weather] Traffic has been picking up all over the area. Our hotels are full, there are long lines at local restaurants, and shoppers/tourists are everywhere. Stay tuned to AntiqueWeekend.com for all your Texas antique show schedules and news. Remember when you attend the shows that there's lots of great antiquing to be done in Fayette County.
