Show News: 10/05/01
October 5, 2001
So much for the good weather! The rain and stormy weather has arrived. But the show goes on. Everyone is hoping that the front will pass through and that Saturday will be dryer. The forecast is that the cold front will push the rain south of us before noon. The October AntiqueWeekend is often rainy so the dealers are prepared for anything. Bring warm clothes, an umbrella and shoes that a little mud won't bother. [weather] Pack up the car and head for Warrenton/Round Top Saturday morning. Even if the rain doesn't break there's lots of shopping under cover. You can spend all day inside the halls, tents, and antique show barns. After the other shows closed today Fayetteville came alive tonight. Restaurants and antique shops on the square were hopping, as was the show at the SPJST Hall just north of the square on SH-159. Unlike the other venues, Fayetteville stays open until midnight on Friday and Saturday night. What are you looking for? WARRENTON: Flea market, rustic antiques, imports, collectibles, vintage, and architectural. ROUND TOP & SHELBY: Fine antiques, colonial antiques, china, crystal, restored furniture, and folk art. FAYETTEVILLE & CARMINE: Rustic antiques, imports, collectibles, and vintage. Everyone will be open Saturday - rain or shine. Nearly all the shows are open Sunday, but many of the field dealers will be anxious to move along after spending two weeks hawking their wares. Don't be surprised to see many dealers packing up by noon Sunday. Check the hours of the paid entry shows so that you can see everything before they close. We've got lots of photos on AntiqueWeekend.com that will give you a glimpse of what you'll find when you get here.
