Show News: 10/06/01
October 6, 2001

The weather improved Saturday just in time for the BIG Texas AntiqueWeekend! Over night there was lot of wind and rain. By day break the temperature was in the mid 50's and the rain was gone and stayed gone all day. Everyone seemed to have weathered the storm and dried out. Surprisingly there wasn't as much mud as you might have expected (there was a lot more last October). Several shows added more tents this year and were happy that they did. Traffic wasn't too bad either. The traffic jam started about one mile south of Warrenton and Round Top. Fayetteville had another great after-hours event staying open until midnight. Even the Fayetteville Area Heritage Museum stayed open and was filled with visitors. You're got only one more day to experience AntiqueWeekend until next April. Come early Sunday and bring your warm clothes. Shows open on Sunday will start closing after lunch. Most admission shows close at 3pm or 4pm. Check the hours of the paid entry shows so that you can see everything before they close. [weather] Many of the shows will be are open Sunday. Those that will not be open Sunday include: Marburger Farms, Fayetteville's SPJST Hall, Shelby Antique Show, and Zapp Hall in Warrenton. Some of the field dealers will be anxious to move along after spending two weeks hawking their wares. Don't be surprised to see many dealers packing up by noon Sunday. We've added more photos that can be seen on AntiqueWeekend.com. [photos] Stay tuned to AntiqueWeekend.com for all your Texas antique show schedules and news.
