The Gang's All Here.

Thursday was opening day for a few more shows that don't participate in Preview Weekend. The SPJST Hall in Fayetteville is one of those venues that opened today. This great little show has really expanded over the last three Texas Antique Weekends. It also one of the inside shows without an admission fee.

As we expected almost every field and show has expanded this year making everything bigger and better. The fields, halls and tents have filled up with goodies.

Everyone is here and everyone will be open for business Friday, October 4th and Saturday October 5th. Most of the field vendors will start packing up Sunday, but the big indoor shows in and round Round Top will be open until 3pm Sunday.

WEATHER

Thursday the weather was wonderful and dry. Weather is always a big unknown for the Texas Antique Weekend. Hurricane Lili has had virtually no effect on our local weather. There is a small percentage of chance of rain for Friday and Saturday with a greater likeliness on Sunday.

The Texas Antique Weekend vendors and dealers are well prepared to deal with Texas weather and the show will go on rain or shine. Bring your umbrella, poncho, rubber boots, and wallet - we're all waiting for you!

TRAFFIC & PARKING

Saturday the traffic will be terrible. There's just no way to get around the fact that our rural communities are served by two-lane farm-to-market roads that will be clogged by the thousands and thousands of dealers and shoppers in their cars and trucks. Start early and allow plenty of driving time once you're in the area.

As a general guide parking at the south end of Warrenton is all paid parking and at the north end it's free parking. Parking at and around the Round Top, Shelby, Carmine and Fayetteville Shows will be free. Please don't park on the shoulder within ten-feet of the pavement.

EATING

We've said it before, but it's never been easier to get fed at the Texas Antique Weekend. There has never been so much food available, good food too! Everywhere you go you can find a snack or a meal. Several of the area restaurants have opened satellite restaurant operations in and around the field shows.
