The Big Day.

This is it, the Big Day.

The one day during the great Texas Antique Weekend that everyone is open for business. Tomorrow a number of the shows will close, but even so there's still more going on than anyone could see in a single day. So, if you haven't made it out yet, it's not too late.

Most of the field vendors will start packing up sometime on Sunday, but the big indoor shows in and round Round Top will be open until 3pm. Our recommendation is to come as early as possible, shop the fields first but leave enough time to visit the Rifle Hall and Folk Art Annex in Round Top, the Big Red Barn north of Round Top before they close at 3pm, then return to Warrenton and look for bargains among the dealers loading up for the trip home.

WEATHER

Saturday couldn't have been a better weather day. The morning started off breezy with clear skies. The day warmed up and the clouds rolled in to provide some break from the sun as it warmed up to 90F. Most areas didn't get any rain until a brief shower that fell shortly after 5pm.

If the forecast holds true Sunday should be mostly cloudy with isolated showers.

LARGE SHOWS THAT CLOSED SATURDAY

  • County Line - Carmine

  • Fayetteville SPJST - Fayetteville

  • La Bahia - Burton

  • Marburger Farm - Round Top

  • Shelby Antiques - Shelby

TRAFFIC

Saturday the traffic was terrible, just as anticipated, especially between Round Top and Warrenton. Sunday won't be as bad. Still start early and allow plenty of driving time once you're in the area.
